One-on-one with David Spade... more..

In one of the most successful jumps from high school to the NBA, Amar'e Stoudemire stunned many by being the first player to be drafted out of high school to win the NBA Rookie of the Year Award at the ripe age of 20. As the ninth overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft, Stoudemire helped rejuvenate a debilitated Phoenix Suns team expected to finish at the bottom of the Western Conference standings. Stoudemire's rugged inside play and ability to adjust to the basket were crucial factors in thwarting the Suns' successful drive to make the 2003 postseason. Standing a towering 6 feet 10 inches, and weighing in at a “slim” 245-pounds, the power forward is a physical specimen, a juggernaut if you will, who is often compared to a young Shawn Kemp or Karl Malone. Amar'e Stoudemire's brute force and amazing quickness for someone his size makes him extremely difficult to defend in the low post, and a constant shot-blocking threat on the defensive end. Despite never having played organized basketball until the age of 14 and attending six different high schools before finishing his prep career at Cypress Creek High in Orlando, Florida, he has persevered to become a future NBA star.

Amar'e Stoudemire is a well-respected professional basketball player who has not only left his mark on the game, but also on the community through his award winning outreach. Creating the Amar'e Stoudemire “Each One Teach One Foundation” has helped him to keep education the focal point of his charitable efforts. This organization is a youth outreach program designed to creatively inspire and help at risk youths to succeed. By providing education, support, supplies, tools and donations, the Amar'e Stoudemire “Each One Teach One Foundation” helps each child thrive and achieve goals well beyond even their own expectations.
